Throughout Ubisoft’s quarterly investor conference call, Chief Executive Officer Yves Guillemot and Chief Financial Officer Alain Martinez talked about the publisher’s Prognosis about the Nintendo Switch.
Martinez mentioned during the prepared comments that Ubisoft is “very pleased” by the operation of both Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which was the best-selling third party game in the Switch in 2017, also adding that the success of its launch in Japan confirms this trend. Thanks to the Switch’so “powerful momentum” the game should benefit from long-lasting sales, and Ubisoft will be the “blatant third-party pioneer” on Switch, and they intend to continue to build on the “good ten-year-plus relationship with Nintendo. ”
Afterwards from the Q&A Guillemot affirmed the relationship with Nintendo “proceeds to increase,” and the publisher is “very happy” with what had been achieved with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Just Dance was a huge seller on the Switch. He added that in the future theyre “likely to do ”, items but may’t provide further details for now.
